Lindsey Vonn sought to clarify that she is nothing more than friends with Aaron Rodgers after rumors started that the two may be an item.
The whole situation began to evolve after Vonn recently made several comments on photos Rodgers posted to his Instagram account. In one recent post, Vonn left the comment “Wow you are short” on a photo of Rodgers posing alongside Golden State Warriors player Za Za Pachulia at the ESPYs.
All told, Vonn has commented on 17 Rodgers Instagram posts in the recent past. But Vonn insists she and Rodgers are just friends, no more, no less.
“Everyone is kind of blowing this Instagram comment thing with me and Aaron out of proportion,” Vonn said in a video posted to Twitter by Uninterrupted, as transcribed by the New York Post. “We’re friends. I have friends just like everyone has friends, and I commented on his Instagram giving him a hard time because he is short comparatively to Za Za.”
Vonn went on to discuss how the Rodgers rumors are one of several unfortunate pitfalls of being in the public eye.
“It’s just hard sometimes being under the microscope,” Vonn added. “There are so many more important stories to be had out there than people trolling me about a comment on Instagram. I try my best not to listen, but sometimes it can be a little frustrating.”

Vonn currently is dating former Rams wide receivers coach Kenan Smith. Rodgers, meanwhile, recently split from longtime girlfriend Olivia Munn, a relationship that ended up being the source of much drama (more on that here).
As far as Vonn is concerned, it’s hardly surprising she’s grown weary of Internet gossip and conjecture considering her personal life. The Olympic gold medalist of course was part of one of the biggest sports supercouples of all-time during her several-year relationship with Tiger Woods. The couple split in 2015.
